St Michael's Catholic Small School, now in its eleventh year (2009), provides the only Catholic secondary education in Cornwall and primary schooling for Truro and other areas without a Catholic primary school. The ethos of the school is Catholic, but not exclusively so. A proportion of teachers and pupils are not Catholic but wish to be part of a strongly Christian community. The school's small size helps many children and teenagers wary of the impersonality of large schools.
